14 Section – 3 Row Carousel
38’ Platform (42’ Overall Diameter)
2 Chariots (1 ADA/Wheelchair Accessible)
The Endangered Species Carousel at the Ft. Wayne’s Children’s Zoo is the first carousel of its kind! Since opening in July 1994, the carousel has been a huge attraction for zoo patrons and has spawned many other zoos to incorporate a zoo-themed carousel from the Carousel Works. The fully accessible carousel features thirty-six (36) figures and two (2) stationary chariots; one of which is ADA/Wheelchair Accessible.
This magical carousel depicts endangered species from Southeast Asia. Children and adults alike enjoy the thrill of riding one of these colorful figures. Riders can choose from figures that aren’t found on traditional carousels such as a Dugong, Barbirusa, Cassowary, Tapir, and Cheetah. An Orangutan even sits at the center of the carousel watching riders go by!
