Carousel Works Called Up to the Plate to Create a Carousel for the Kansas City Royals

Mansfield, OH, November 7, 2008 - Carousel Works of Mansfield, OH has been asked to hit a homerun with a new, custom designed carousel for the Kansas City Royals. The renovation of the Royals home field, Kaufmann Stadium, includes an innovative new children’s area that will host the new Royals-themed carousel this Spring.

The carousel will feature 14 figures and 1 ADA Accessible chariot. The figures include large baseball bats, a glove, Royal-themed horses, a patriotic bald eagle, and even mascot Sluggerrr will be represented on the carousel.

The overall theme of the carousel design is a Royals baseball fantasy world that will delight kids of all ages. Some of the design elements include home plate-shaped mirrors, 3-dimensional carved baseballs housed between all the lights, glove and bat design enhancements, a beautiful crown finial at the peak of the carousel and original artwork paintings to enhance the overall theme.

Carousel Works is the world ’s largest manufacturer of wooden carousels. Currently in production are 8 new innovative carousels and 3 major restoration projects at their Mansfield, OH facility. Including the first carousel at sea for Royal Caribbean Cruises new Oasis of the Seas, two new Endangered Species carousels for the Sacramento and Los Angeles Zoos and the restoration of the historic Nunley’s Carousel located in Long Island, NY.
